Naina started learning dance at the age of 8 and gave her Arangetram in the year 1997. She has also completed the Vidwat(master's level) in Bharatanatyam from the Karnataka Board of special exams and passed with distinction.
loves to Choreograph and experiment with different styles, music and mediums and has participated in many dance compitetions during her school and college days and won numerous awards and given many performances.
Naina is a Certified Examiner for the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board and has pariticipated in "Odissi and Manipuri" Workshops, "Mohiniattam" Workshops organized by Smt. Nandini Eshwar and exponent in the Tanjavur Style of Bharatanatyam.
The workshop in Pandanallur style and Natuvangam was conducted by the Doyen of Pandanallur style of Dance,
Smt. Vasundhara Doreswamy and Smt. Uma Dandayudhapani Pillai.
Currently Naina is learning Kathak and Carnatic Vocal from accomplised Bay Area artists and teachers.
Naina has a Masters Degree in Biotechnology from Mysore University and a Diploma in Biotechnology from California State University at Hayward.
After working in the Biotech Industry and Academia(Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory) for a few years, I had to give in to my inner voice and decided to start teaching, performing and learning Dance once again!!
